#16-Red and Yellow/ Le rouge et le jaune
I've been working at a slower pace this month, not because of the holidays and visits, but rather because of a bad case of bronchitis, which required me to take antibiotics and left me very tired. It will be better in February and I hope then to show you some new textile paintings.
J'ai travaillé au ralenti ce mois-ci, non pas à cause des fêtes et des visites, mais plutôt à cause d'une bronchite carabinée, qui m'a obligée à prendre des antibiotiques et qui m'a laissée très fatiguée. Ce sera mieux en février et j'espère vous montrer de nouveaux tableaux.

But I managed to finish a painting for a call of entry in the exhibition "Red in context" in the USA. This is the 3rd in a series started this summer, each painting having the same dimensions and representing an abstract view of nature with a majority color.

Mais j'ai réussi à terminer un tableau pour poser ma candidature et participer à l'exposition "Rouge en contexte" aux USA. C'est le 3ème d'une série commencée cet été, chacun des tableaux ayant les mêmes dimensions et représentant une vue abstraite de la nature avec une couleur majoritaire.

Country Walk/ Promenade à la campagne

I also made a smaller painting for a friend, entitled "Country Walk". These are not my favorite colors, but it's what she wanted.
J'ai également fait un petit tableau pour une amie, intitulé "Promenade à la campagne". Ce ne sont pas mes couleurs de prédilection, mais c'est ce qu'elle voulait.
Yellow/ Jaune
I started working on our next group challenge "20 Perspectives", the subject of which is "Monochrome". Each of the 20 artists has been given a color and must make a textile painting of that color. Yellow was assigned to me. It's difficult because the yellow values are not as contrasted as for red or blue for example: little difference between a dark yellow and a light yellow. But I chose my fabrics, we'll see.
J'ai commencé à travailler sur notre prochain challenge du groupe "20 Perspectives", dont le sujet est "Monochrome". Chacune des 20 artistes a reçu une couleur et doit faire un tableau de cette couleur. C'est le jaune qui m'a été attribué. C'est difficile car les valeurs de jaune ne sont pas aussi contrastées que pour du rouge ou du bleu par exemple: peu de différence entre un jaune foncé et un jaune clair. Mais j'ai choisi mes tissus, on verra.

And then I was informed earlier this week that the American periodical had published an article about my work. I haven't received the magazine yet, I'm looking forward to it. It is certainly a form of recognition and I am very happy about it.
Et puis j'ai été informée en début de semaine que le périodique américain avait publié un article sur mon travail. Je n'ai pas encore reçu le magazine, je l'attends avec impatience. C'est certainement une forme de reconnaissance et j'en suis très heureuse.
February and March will be busy developing several series that have been on my mind since last summer and for which I have made many sketches. But to tell you the truth, I don't know yet where it will lead me. That's part of the creative process: you start with an idea, and you end up somewhere else, somewhere you didn't know existed! And along the way, there is joy, panic, technical difficulties, astonishment, sometimes pride, in any case a constructive face to face with oneself.
Février et mars seront occupés à développer plusieurs séries qui me trottent par la tête depuis l'été dernier et pour lesquelles j'ai fait de nombreux croquis. Mais à vrai dire, je ne sais pas encore où cela va me mener. Cela fait partie du processus de créativité: on commence avec une idée, et on arrive tout à fait ailleurs, quelque part dont on ne connaissait pas l'existence! Et sur le chemin, se pressent la joie, la panique, les difficultés techniques, l'étonnement, parfois la fierté, dans tous les cas un face à face constructif avec soi-même.
