Our new group of artists "20 perspectives" has set up a website and an exhibition in Germany.
I was invited with my friends Léna and Chantal to exhibit in Nantes at the "amour du fil" show. I have been contacted for 2 other exhibitions (but I won't say anything until it's done:)
I attended a webinar offered by an American artist on how to use apps to draw, edit and modify photos on the Ipad.
I finished the 3rd part of a challenge for the month of June in the USA
However, I only advanced my 2nd bridge (which I announced last month), but I didn't finish it.

Notre nouveau groupe d’artistes “20 perspectives” a mis sur pied une exposition en Allemagne ainsi qu’un site internet
J’ai été invitée avec mes amies Léna et Chantal à exposer à Nantes au salon “amour du fil”. J’ai été contactée pour 2 autres expositions (mais motus et bouche cousue tant que ce n’est pas fait:)
J’ai suivi un webinaire proposé par une artiste américaine sur l’utilisation d’applications pour dessiner, éditer et modifier des photos sur l’Ipad.
J’ai terminé le 3ème volet d’un défi pour le mois de juin aux USA
Par contre, je n’ai fait qu’ avancer mon 2e pont (que j’avais annoncé le mois dernier), mais je n’ai pas terminé.
Cathedral #5, Hommage to my grandmother, 47” x 35”
It is finished and ready to be sent for selection to the SAQA global exhibition "wide horizons", which will be presented at the Carrefour Européen in Alsace next September.
I used a lot of cotton from my grandmother's wedding linens, especially the hemstitched sheet borders. This explains the title. I did several dyeing sessions beforehand, as explained last month (results below).
Cathédrale #5, Hommage à ma grand-mère (118 x 88 cm) est terminée et prête à être envoyée pour la sélection à l’exposition internationale SAQA “wide horizons”, qui sera présentée au Carrefour Européen en Alsace en septembre prochain. J’ai utilisé une quantité conséquente de coton issu du linge de mariage de ma grand-mère, et en particulier des bordures de drap ajourées… d’où le titre. J’avais au préalable fait plusieurs séances de teinture, comme expliquées le mois dernier. (quelques exemples ci-dessous)

We have been working since last October with 2 virtual meetings per month to set up the group's website and define the work in common. My piece is entitled “Bridging the present and the past.
The first exhibition, planned in Germany for May, has arrived at the right time, justifying the adage "after the effort, the comfort".

Nous avons travaillé depuis le mois d’octobre dernier à raison de 2 rendez vous virtuels par mois pour mettre sur pied le site du groupe et définir le travail en commun. Mon tableau a pour titre “Le lien entre le présent et le passé”
La 1ère exposition, prévue en Allemagne pour le mois de mai, est arrivée à point, justifiant l’adage “après l’effort, le réconfort”
Our mini group "les quiltriplées" namely Léna Meszaros, Chantal Guillermet and I will exhibit together in Nantes at the end of April. I will present my 5 cathedrals, as well as about fifteen small paintings from my series "Each their own life". I will have to work hard because I have only 7 frames ready out of the 15.

J’y présenterai mes 5 cathédrales, ainsi qu’une quinzaine de petits tableaux de ma série “A chacun sa vie”. Il va me falloir travailler d’arrache-pied car je n’ai que 7 châssis prêts sur les 15.

QSDS (Quilt and Surface Design Symposium) in Ohio next June
I'm participating in a master class in June in the US, and as part of that, I have already done 3 of the 4 works to present. The proposed theme is "creating 4 different interpretations of the same photo." I chose the same landscape (original photo in the top left corner) photographed by one of my sons in Chile. This landscape lets my mind and imagination wander.

Je participe à un master class au mois de juin aux USA, et dans ce cadre, j’ai déjà fait 3 des 4 œuvres à présenter. Le thème proposé est “création de 4 interprétations différentes d’une même photo.” J’ai choisi le paysage mentionné ci-dessus, photographié par un de mes fils au Chili (l’original est en haut à gauche), qui laisse mon esprit et mon imagination vagabonder.
A small detail
Last, I need to finish my 2nd bridge for the "Bridges" exhibit soon. Last month I wrote that my version was a bit too figurative for my taste, so that I would make a second, more abstract one. For the moment it is in progress...I also have the project of two new cathedrals, but my hands don't go fast enough, or else I would have to use the hours of sleep :)
Mon dernier point: Il me faut vite finir mon 2ème pont pour l’exposition “Bridges”. Le mois dernier, j’ai écrit que ma version du pont était un peu trop figurative pour mon goût et que j’allais en faire une deuxième, un peu plus abstraite. Pour l’instant c’est en plein chantier…J'ai également le projet de deux nouvelles cathédrales, mais mes mains ne vont pas assez vite, ou alors il faudrait utiliser les heures de sommeil :)
